Organising your painting with basic shapes

Posted in: Art Theory

Picasso mentioned this before ‘ Nature and Art, being two different things, cannot be the same thing. Through Art we express our conception of what nature is not.’

Whether you are an abstract painter or an artist who paint naturalistically, remember that you have to learn how to organise your painting.

The best way is to organise the elements in your painting into lines, squares, rectangle, triangles, ovals and circles (basic shapes) to establish a relationship with the paper you are drawing. And the shape of the paper you are using is normally rectangle, right?
